I read comic books on occassion, and it's a running joke that unless you see the body, the character will be back. Thus there have been several occasion when someone dies, and within a few months they're back, with no explanation. Thus the whole is he dead or alive thing is somewhat ironic, consdering stuff like that happens all the time.
