Kennedy......... what to do?

How can you justify saying he could cope in the main event if you think he is average and dont want to see him with a world title yet?

Surely you don't need to like guys for them to be main event, just believable world champs and Kennedy for me is not and for you he is not either or so you said, so why do you think he could cope if he is not main event material yet?

He is not world title material but could still have a main event feud.

fair play, I could see that, I wouldn't mind seeing Edge v Kennedy however to hold a main event feud surely you would need to be in with a chance of winning?

I don't think it would be believable having Edge job to Ken anytime soon, I think Ken would need to be built up for that to happen, that being said I still get back to the point that what has he done to be considered in that kind of class?

He has done everything else, he has gone through the dark match/velocity/heat stage and then went into lower mid-card before winning a mid-card title, he had a big rivalry with Undertaker and he won the MITB. he has done basically what MVp has done. Neither has had a good match for a year, and although MVP is better and should be pushed sooner, I don't think Kennedy is far behind. Kennedy does have a good crowd reaction, with a new finisher and abit more promo time he could be a legitimate main eventer soon. A feud with MVp could do good for both of them

I don't hate him, I hate the wrestling fans that touted him as the next big thing, I hate the fans that say he should be pushed and when asked why, can't give a half decent explanation as to why, I hate the fans that ride his nuts about how good he is on the mic, but yet can't point me in the direction of a single outstanding promo.

I'm happy to step in the defence for the Kennedy.
Is he the best wrestler in the world? No
Is the best on the mic in the world? No
Could he be a main event champion? Yes.
He has something, that spark that makes a champ, that ability that when he does speak or is the ring is making you wait for something to happen.
That Austin feeling.

Austin wasn't a great wrestler, a brawler but never a top wrestler, he was confident obviously on the mic but again The Rock I felt was of more high consistant quality but Austin had that something that was different to everyone else.
And I can see that spark in Kennedy.

Sorry Austin was a great wrestler macc, up until he broke his neck, and by that time he was already way over with the fans.

So he sucks in the ring, he's not as great as people say he is on the mic, but he has something......no one is sure what, but just something, and that is worthy of calling him the next big thing and saying he should be getting a push????

its that ability that when he is about you take notice, he doesnt fade into the background.
Shelton Benjamin is the opposite, he has all the moves but he doesnt have that special je ne sais quoi that Kennedy has.
WHen he's in the ring he draws the crowd in, he tells a story, he makes you believe.
The stuff only the top guys do like Edge, Angle, Austin, Rock, HBK, Jericho etc all do.

Saying all that though he fucked up majorly last year when was due his big push and isn't down for another anytime soon.

I just don't see any of that, if he does end up becoming the next big thing because of improvements he make then good, we can always do with more top guys.

Another one of my problems is I see the Cena effect with him(but Cena was waaaaay more over), little ability in the ring and would IMO start to be booed if pushed to the top so soon because of it.

That's why I say its not Kennedy I hate, but the fans, people NEED to be given time to develop, but the midcard is in such a state that they can't

you look on Smackdown at the moment now and after the two obvious main eventers in HHH & Edge it's wide open, Big Show obviously is the 'big'gest name but theres quite a number of others jostling for position.
If Taker comes back though to SD it will just be 2 out of those 3 every PPV and sometimes all three.

Despite the draft I still don't watch smackdown really, Friday night is a stupid night for wrestling if you ask me.

I'm also not looking forward to takers return.

Oh and Austin was a brilliant wrestler Maccs, thats why his brawler character got so over because he could last the pace of a 30 minute match by being a great wrestler, don't forget his original WWF gimmick as as the Ring Master (master of the ring) to be the Million Dollar Champ
