| Dunno what made me think of this but which wrestlers (past of present) regularly use a move which doesn't really fit in with the rest of their move set?
I reckon Shawn Michaels is a pretty good example. Sweet Chin Music is a superkick but how many times does HBK do kicking moves? Not often. It seems totally normal to see him do it now because he's been doing it for years but at first, for someone who doesn't have many (if any, enziguri perhaps?) kicking attacks it must have seemed a bit out of character.
Another would maybe be Vader, Terry Funk and Bigelow who all performed a version of the moonsault. Funk is an old school brawler who rarely goes up top so seeing him do this (especially when he's like 89) is pretty out of the ordinary. As for the other two, they were both big buggers and it was amazing when they did this. They hardly ever connected (mainly cos it would knack the fella on the floor) but seeing men that size doing moonsaults is incredible and totally different from any other moves they did.
I can also remember Mick Foley doing a sunset flip off the apron onto the floor. Foley never does stuff like that so this was definitely different from his usual stuff and pretty impressive too, looked pretty painful.
I guess that silly triangle hold thing (which is the most dangerous move ever remember) that the Undertaker does is also fairly different as his matches don't exactly consist of a load of submissions.
And lets not forget his handsome brother Kane. That clothesline he does from the top rope is usually the only time he ever goes up high so it kinda qualifies as being different from his usual array of moves.
Last one I can think of is Cena and that STFU (I think) submission. This is for the same reason as Taker, he just doesn't use submissions that often so having one as a finisher is fairly "out of character".
So who else does moves which don't fit in with the rest of their stuff?

| Angle's 540 splash doesn't exactly fit....
Lance Hoyt does a moonsault thats sorta out of place.
Lesnar's old shooting star press
Taker's over the top rope jump (mania)
all big/mat guys doing high flying stuff

| Undertakers Old school move is quite out of character, you wouldnt have thought a man his size could balance on the ropes like that... | |

| Chris Benoit's diving headbutt: I can't remember him getting on the top rope other than for this.
Umaga's samoan Spike: He uses power moves for most of the match and then that's his finisher.

| Undertaker's new submission (the one where he chokes his opponents with his legs). That seems out of place as Undertaker is more of a brawler, not a submission specialist. | |

| Funny you should say that Pabz, because I reckon that's how HHH will beat Khali at SS. | |

| It totally fits into Shawn Michaels, he is a specialist who is renowned for his technical and aerial ability and no move Michaels does looks out of place
Hunter doing it though does look totally out of place!
Dont really get the Sweet Chin Music one though, as a member of the Rockers he was always doing the crescent kick and double drop kicks and moves like that and it has ALWAYS been part of his repertoire even if the side suplex was his first singles finisher, he even toyed with the Pile driver as his finisher as well

| What I am wondering is???????
After losing CLEANLY to Jeff Hardy at Armageddon is Hardy due a possible World Title run having saw the success and interest that CM Punks reign has brought to the WWE, so possibly the WWE need a transitional champion and they see Khali as a past winner already as that possible guy who could then job it on to Hardy??????????
Maybe Hunter doesn't fancy losing two singles matches in a row to Hardy even if he does or did prefer him for a major push!
Its just a theory, to be honest I just cant see why Khali would get a main event in one of the biggest (probably 2nd biggest) PPV of the year

| I think the big SMACKDOWN match for SummerSlam though is definitely going to be the Undertaker v Edge Hell In A Cell
So maybe instead of trying to upstage that they have just used Khali as a transitional challenger

| I'm still waiting for HHH to become more a part of Smackdown, if Khali does win like you said then I think it would be a handy sort of gateway to become a proper part of that show. At the minute he feels like an outsider on that show. Jeff Hardy looks like he belongs there but HHH needs to shake of that Raw tag IMO. Being champion on Smackdown really limits the amount of legitimate opponents you can have. As champ, you can't lose very much at all. | |

| HHH is an outsider there (or feels like one) because he's never on the show. He entered the ring last weekm, and then just kinda left. | |
