What If???????

Ok take a story from the WWF/E past (A real story) and change it completely and see where the butterfly effect would have taken your story and therefor what could have happened in future WWF/E stories!

I.E What if Shawn Michaels hadn't injured his back at the 1998 Royal Rumble

He wouldn't have left, would Stone Cold have won the title?, what would have become of DX? Would Rock have been pushed so quickly in 98?, Would Vince and Stone Cold have been instant enemies considering his hatred for DX?


Now I am not asking you to run with that example and answer those questions, just simply write how things would have panned out in your own opinions on any big wrestling match or story that has happened that you feel has had a big impact on the WWF/E booking

triple h doesnt tear his quads just before the invasion storyline.

when the whole invasion storyline kicks off, steph takes control of ECW. triple h sides with his wife and becomes the leader of the alliance rather than stone cold steve austin.

austin instead, is the leader of the WWF.

thats how i think it would have went down

I could definitely see that happening. I thought it was silly how Austin who basically led WWF straight through the Monday Night War suddenly changed his mind. HHH on the other hand would have also been connected with Shane and Stephanie plus he's a quality bastard and seems the type to turn his back on WWF. They would of course had to have a different Wrestlemania ending where Austin turned heel.

They could also have allured to the fact that WCW gave him his big break all those years ago!

what baffled me was that the next night on raw, austin stormed the ring and got cheered despite being the biggest heel for the last 6 months. then they acted like he was face and nothing had ever happend....

It was a canny angle I thought. People say Vince should've waited till he could get the big names but could you see Nash, Hogan, Sting, Goldberg and whoever else would sign for WWE knowing their first task was to job to the best guys in WWF? That was never ever gonna happen.

yeah people say it was a rushed failure. i dont think it was. they could have expanded on it better but that was the only problem. i think it was orchestrated greatly. especially with the few shock changing of allegences

That SS match was top as well, one of the best Survivor Series matches iv seen. Felt a bit markish too on the night, I was all pro WWF even though it was obvious they would win.

yeah i was exactly the same. but i was young and naiive back then. although i knew it was fake, i genuinly didnt want to believe it. and there was sincere doubt that maybe the alliance would win!

and everybody back then had allegences. whether it was WWF or WCW. everybody chose to watch just one, but not the other. so i was sickend at the thought i might have to watch WCW!

I love watching WCW now but at the time I was dead against them. In the late 90's I was still believing it all so when this came around I hated them. Heyman brought great heat for it too.

As for other hypothetical stuff what about Owen. But think realistically.

I know people say "legend" and "future Wrestlemania main eventer" but he has been slightly exaggerated because of his tragic death.

What I think is a Jericho like career. I think he would be there but would not have title reign after title reign like Trips. I think he would live in the mid-card and have a few WWE title feuds but I doubt he would ever headline Wrestlemania. Great wrestler undoubtedly but I don't he would reach THE top of the business.
